Sustainability
Built to last — made with respect for the mountains.
At Holmen Snowboards, sustainability isn’t a slogan. It’s a natural part of how we build our boards. By crafting every snowboard by hand in Norway, we reduce waste, control every detail, and ensure that each board is made to last for years — not seasons.
We believe that the most sustainable board is one you can ride year after year.
Our Approach
1. Longevity First
We build snowboards that last. Durable construction and high-quality materials mean fewer replacements, less waste, and a stronger bond between rider and board.
2. Responsible Materials
We carefully select materials that balance performance and sustainability — including FSC-certified wood cores and premium base materials from trusted European suppliers.
3. Local Production
All Holmen boards are designed, pressed, and finished in our Norwegian workshop.
By producing locally, we minimize transport, maintain full control over quality, and keep production close to the environment that inspires us.
4. Low Waste Workshop
We optimize every process to reduce waste. Offcuts and leftover materials are reused for testing, molds, and small projects — nothing is thrown away without a second thought.
Built for Repair, Not Replacement
We encourage riders to repair — not replace — their boards.
Our in-house workshop offers repair services for base damage, delamination, and edge wear, helping extend the lifespan of every board we build.
A repaired board tells a story — and we like that.
Our Promise
We’re not perfect, and we don’t pretend to be. But we take responsibility for every board we build and continuously look for ways to improve our process and reduce our footprint.
Holmen Snowboards is about riding with intention — and leaving the mountain just as beautiful as we found it.
